In this test, we use the CD-CHECK media specially prepared by Digital Recordings (see below for description). On the pressed disc, damage was created, as shown in the picture:

DAE Quality

Another test to evaluate the efficiency of the SR / EC mechanism is to use the DAE Quality program.  The test consisted of reading a damaged audio disc at the maximum available speed bypassing the error correction mechanism.  The test ran smoothly despite a strange shift of data on the screen with the read graph.

Exact Audio copy (EAC)

Exact Audio Copy (EAC) v1.3 is a program for ripping audio tracks and burning audio discs. When launched, the EAC detects the following read characteristics of the drive:

EAC can read audio discs in two modes: secure and burst.  In the first case, the extraction process is slower, as the program tries to recognize and correct errors that occur during the disc's reading.  In the second case, EAC omits built-in error correction procedures, which makes the reading much more efficient, however the quality of the ripped audio material largely depends on the error correction mechanism of the drive.  Below are screenshots from the EAC program,made after reading the path in a given mode (burst / secure).

Notice the red frames with extraction speed on them.  These values, when converted to Kb / s (X = 150 Kb / s), allowed us to create graphs comparing the capabilities of individual drives.  The results for the tested drive are highlighted in a different color.

Read protected audio discs.

 To test whether the drive works properly with secured audio discs, we have used the following:

 Spider Man "Music From And Inspired By", key2audio-protected. The reading ran smoothly.

Natalie Imbruglia "White Lilies Island", secured with CDS-200.  The reading ran smoothly.

Summary:

 The audio testing shows that the drive has a decent mechanism for reading audio data.  Ripping speed is not fast, but the correction is very good.  Excellent results  (as for the BluRay drive) was achieved in the CD Check and DAE Quality tests. The drive can read audio CDS-200 and Key2audio-protected audio without the use of decryption programs.
